How do you get nail varnish off with out using nail varnish remover ?

i no i can go and get them from the shop but the only place where i can get them is closed and i need to get the nail varnish off by tonight

HELPFUL ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE ! xHow do you get nail varnish off with out using nail varnish remover ?
Very messy, but putting another layer of polish over the top and then wiping it straight off should do the job!

If all else fails.... pick it baby! How do you get nail varnish off with out using nail varnish remover ?
If your shop is shut ~ then ';white spirit'; that you use for cleaning paint brushes ~ or failing that try a watered down solution of bleach [no too much bleach] and cotton wool, might do it for you.
It's quite messy but you can add another layer on and then wash it off before it has dried. I tried it and it worked - but it was messy x
use a nail file over ur nails may scuff them a little but it cums off or use scissors to scratch it off xx
a pair of pliers and a piece of leather 2 bite on
i would say you should try scratching it it always works

How can i make my nail varnish thinner?

It's gotten all thick as it is old, can i add water to it to thin it or is that ridiculous?! or oil or something? any ideas? cheers. How can i make my nail varnish thinner?
Ahh, that old chestnut.

What you need to do is take the lid off your nail polish remover, add a few drops of remover in the lid, then pour it into the nail polish. It stops too much coming out at once.

Like it does on your nails, its breaks down the polish making it thinner. Only a few drops or you will ruin it.

Give it a good shake and its as good as new.

If you add water or oil, it will just sit on the top as it cant mix with the polish.

:DHow can i make my nail varnish thinner?
No, you cannot use water for this purpose. Some people have suggested using polish remover and adding a few drops. Not a good idea. It will dull the finished look of the polish. There are special thinners available that you can add to polish to make it thinner. However, these will not return the product to it's original composition and consistency. Polish that has been treated with a thinner (or polish remover), will perform poorly when compared to the original product. Thus, it's best to avoid using thinners (or remover) if possible. One way to avoid using them is to make sure the polish caps are cleaned and tightly sealed after use. Also, by applying a thin coating of Vaseline to the threads of the polish bottle will help to keep the cap from sticking, and it will also form a more airtight seal so that when you put the cap back on and tighten it, air will not leak into the bottle. This will help to keep the polish from thickening since evaporation of the solvents contained in nail polish is what causes the polish to thicken. That is the basis of nail polish and how it adheres to the nail plate - through the evaporation of the solvents in the polish. When polish get to the point where it is too thick to use, the best thing to do is to throw it away, and buy new polish.
Some say that you can add acetone (nail polish remover) You would have to be very careful with that and use very little because it evaporates very quickly.

There is also nail polish thinner that you can buy from beauty supply stores... that might be the safer route.
Add a drop of vail varnish remover - it thins it back out and stops it being all gloopy :]

Seriously, it works!! Just don't put to much in or it'll never set, literally a drop or two for the whole bottle of nail polish :]

Hope this helps!

xxxxxxx
water-no no no water doesnt mix too well with most nail ';varnish';

acetone-your varnish will vanish

and plain old polish remover is the best just simply dip your brush in the remover and dip it in the varnish a couple of times and you'll what your looking for
the only thing that could break up old polish is a bit of paint retarder, but i'm not sure how the application will be, it may be streaky
Of course, add a little nail polish remover - not too much though. Then shake the sh** out of it! Hate when that happens!
put acetone (the one u use for removing your nail varnish)
Yes! Add water, I always do and it really works, Just dont add too much; while adding water, every little drop just test it to see when its right!

Why does everyone say OPI is the best nail varnish?

I really want to try it, but being a bit more pricey than other nail varnishes I also want to know why everyone says it's the best

thanksWhy does everyone say OPI is the best nail varnish?
It has the best color range, the colors don't chip or fade, and the polish lasts longer than cheaper brands. I won't use anything else, and I've tried everything else, believe me. Buy the OPI Rapid Dry top coat as well. It costs ten bucks, but it's worth every penny. Why does everyone say OPI is the best nail varnish?
If you like to change your polish often then just stay with the less expensive products available, but if you want something that resists chips, stays on longer and only needs the occasional touch-up then go with OPI. If you're using a darker colour, ALWAYS remember to use a base coat so your nails do not stain as badly.
Well, they last longer, but I'm the kind of girl who has different colored nails everyday, so I buy cheap stuff, because who cares? They look the same. OPI is really good quality, and it doesn't chip easily. Honestly, I have a couple of OPIs and they are really good. Revlon is also good, and it's cheaper.
I like it the best because they have a large variety of colors and lasts a long time....but who says nail VARNISH???

HAHAHAHAHAH.
Well it is I have tried it. It says on longer
It is a good brand

What colour nail varnish is in at the moment?

I read that pastels (light pinks, light blues, light greens, peaches, whites) are really in.

They are really cute, in my opinion.

Also, metallic colors are also in (Golds, silvers, chromes, Ivories.) Anything with a shine or shimmer. What colour nail varnish is in at the moment?
I'm not sure, but I've just bought polish from Avon which has a base coat and then a colour changing top coat. I can't wait to try it, it goes from a light purple to a dark purple with the top coat. What colour nail varnish is in at the moment?
I think metallics, but black has been in for a couple of seasons, think gothic.

I also think bright red is a lovely colour and have seen it on quite a few people!

What colour nail varnish is good with pale skin?

I got this one free with a magazine. Is that ok for me as I'm pale?

    http://www.nailsinc.com/Product/363/tate鈥?/a>

What colour nail varnish is good with pale skin?
I find that darker nail varnishes go better with pale skin than light colours, even though it sounds wierd that way :S

but i have pale skin and my favourite colour to wear is navy blue so yeah, that colour that you got would be great :) xxWhat colour nail varnish is good with pale skin?
That's a gorgeous colour! Any dark shades like that will make your skin look even paler and your nails will look dramatic and really stand out, but lighter shades will make your hands appear daintier and softer and more natural. xx
Go for really dramatic colours such as red, purple, maroon as the contrast would compliment your skin tone,do not go for pastel /pearly shades as it will only make you look paler in comparison.
Nail varnish doesn't have to match skin tone.

Go for citrus colours or a dark colour like purple coz they're the hottest shades at the moment.
i think any nail colour would look good,

    especially navy blue.

yes, i think it would look good on pale skin.
Mostly when your pale, elegant colours will suit you best, such as, dark red.
red nail polish makes any skin color more sophisticated
i have pale skin so i nornally put on birght colours like purple etc.
Ok.. Well black or any darker colors look awesome. ME LIKLY!!! lol so yea luv it..

How do i get nail varnish off a carpet?

i rent out propertys and one of the previous tenants has left pink nailvarnish dried into the carpet.. can anyone tell me how to get it out?How do i get nail varnish off a carpet?
You can try the obvious normal nail varnish remover but is very harsh so try one that is marked as conditioning, failing that you can now get a product called 'Get 'em Off' which is primarily used for soaking off false acrylic nails, used sparingly might work. Try in an unnoticeable place first in case colour of carpet is affected. Make sure you have plenty of plain white kitchen roll to hand to soak up any excess you put on or might remove as colour if it does come off will bleed and make a mess.

If this does not work, your local hardware shop will sell a removal fluid but it might be pricey.

Remember to wash area thoroughly when removed as it will leave a bit of a chemically smell.

Good luck. How do i get nail varnish off a carpet?
Laquer thinner or nail polish remover till you get all of it put a pink stain then use something soapy to get out the rest like dish soap or something like that.
Use non-oily varnish remover or acetone.

Then use a carpet or upholstery shampoo.

Girls, how important are nail varnish, lipstick and all that paraphernalia to you?

not at all. rather go natural with just eyeliner.Girls, how important are nail varnish, lipstick and all that paraphernalia to you?
Nail strengthener is very important to me, but only for the unfortunate reason that I have very thin, weak nails that like to rip passed the quick and cause constant irritation. Not too sightly or healthy when you work in an elementary school. To all the other paraphernalia, I don't even own anything else.Girls, how important are nail varnish, lipstick and all that paraphernalia to you?
I like to play with it. It makes me feel very feminine to paint my face up for a night out or just because.

This is a contrast to my job, where I wear no makeup, and try to play down my femininity. I work directly with inmate trustees at our jail, and badness can happen when they start thinking of you as ';girl'; rather than ';boss.'; (Not that I couldn't take any of them down if they started something, but that means paperwork, which I hate.)

On the other hand, though I like to play with makeup, if I were to lose it all in a house fire it wouldn't really bother me. I'd be a lot more anxious about my books.
A guys perspective: On special occasions maybe but I usually prefer looking at a person rather than a painting.
I only wear lip gloss so it's not that important to me.
    Not.

Try blotting it with cotton wool soaked in nail varnish remover. Renew the cotton wool often. How to get nail varnish off a carpet?
Depends on how big a spot.

If it is a small containable spot..... push the fiber not damaged away, put some tape to hold them safe. (TEST THE POLISH REMOVER ON A SMALL SPOT ALONG THE WALL OR IN THE CLOSET AND SEE IF IT TAKES OUT THE CARPET COLOR, OR IT MELTS THE CARPET FIBERS) If it appears to be safe to use, use the remover to get up as much as you can,use lots of paper towels and keep working the remover. It should get out all of the paint.

NOTE; If the SPOT IS SMALL, and you do not get it up to suit you. You can isolate the spot and clip out the damaged area with scissors. Then go against the wall or in a closet and isolate approximately the same amount of fibers (now this is tricky) Pinch up the fibers clip them off at the base (DON'T DROP THEM). Take them to the removed spot and using glue, put them in the place of the painted spot you removed. Let dry and then see if top needs to be trimmed to match nearby carpet level.

If the spot IS A BIG SPOT. It will need to be taken out with a sharp razor blade. Find a spot in the closet and take up a spot the same size and put it in the removed spot%26gt; You can slide carpet tape under the hole so that the new spot is replace and held by the tape and you can ad some glue. But be careful you don't get glue all over the carpet.

WD40 is great for removing strainge things, and it's worth a try.

Rinse your cloth, then come back after a few minutes to wipe off all the remnant's of salt and lemon juice, hopefully it should have got rid of the biro for you.

i ahve this really nice red coclour nail varnish but it keeps on chipping

but i dont really want to buy anything does anyone have any tips ? xHow do i stop my nail varnish from chipping ?
Rather than polish the whole nail in one whole swoop, break the process down into at least three stroke: First, paint the center, then swipe along each side, keeping the coats thin to prevent chipping.

Another trick is to run your nails under cold water once there partially dry , the icy Temperature will speed up setting you polish. How do i stop my nail varnish from chipping ?
well i'd day buy a top coat but if you really don't want to buy anything you could do it with a clear nail varnish if you already have it. just wait till ur colour is dry %26amp; paint a layer of the clear one over the top but make sure %26amp; do it it like right over the top of the nail so the ends don't chip.
You need to use a clear polish , you put it on your nails before you put the colour on and then after the colour drys you put it on again , it prevents chipping and makes your nails look more shiny :) You can get it in boots its somthing like nail buffer, and its clear :D
well if you have a top coat use that. if not just be really careful, try not to scrape your nails.
    Base coat and top coat.

What nail varnish brand/make would you recommend?

I usually buy barry m which I love for the amazing colours... but it takes like and hour to dry no joke... I'm going on holiday and need a nail varnish brand that offers BRIGHT and QUICK ON AND OFF nail polishes... i don't want to spend half my holiday applying them...What nail varnish brand/make would you recommend?
Something quick I would suggest Rimmel 60 second nail polish or NYX polishes. The NYX aren't advertised as being fast drying but they are and they also come in a ton of different shades. What nail varnish brand/make would you recommend?
OPI, Essie, and China Glaze have fabulous bright and fun colors that go easily on and remove easily and don't test on animals. :) I'm loving China Glaze lately, especially.
My mum just bought me this amazing box of Nails Inc varnishes from QVC Shopping Channel and they are great!

There are great colours and dry within a couple of minutes and are really chip-resistant. Also, using Nails Inc you can buy cool collections and update your look all the time. Actually, weirdly enough...I am wearing Nails Inc varnish right now. Reddy-Pink. Its gorgeous.

If you want a really quick drying varnish, try Rimmel 60 Seconds. They come in outstanding colours and dry in a minute.

OPI is pretty good...Other good but pricy brand is Chanel.
Viva la Diva . . . it's cheap and there are REALLY many different colours

How to get nail varnish to stay on longer?

i will put about 2 or 3 thin coats on then i will put a clear coat ontop, but after i day it peals off. how can i stop this from happening. How to get nail varnish to stay on longer?
One coat of a good quality one and then a top coat, buff nails before applying to get a good grip for the polish, and do it last thing at night so it sets real hard. I do this and mine lasts a week! How to get nail varnish to stay on longer?
Okay Here is how I do my nails to make the varnish stay on for longer:

    1. Firstly ensure that nails are clean and tidy and take off any old polish.

    2. Then take a cotton bud with nail polish remover on it and swipe it across each nail to remove any oil from you nails and help the polish to stay on longer.

    3. After that apply your first coat going from the top to the bottom of your nails, and wait for that coat to dry.

    4. Then apply your next coat, however this time go from side to side about three times till you nail is again coated.

    5. When you second coat has dried apply your final coat of colour and go from top to bottom again.

    6. When your final coat has dried you can neaten it up with some more polish if required.

    7. Finally apply your clear coat from side to side once and then when that has dried, from the the bottom to the top.

    Tips:

Make sure that you have good quality nail polish.

If your nail polish is quite a light colour you may have to do more than three coats.

Try not to pick or bite you nails when they have polish on them to make it last longer.

If it does peel or chip in small places just top it up to make it look neat again.

    Good Luck,

    Lydia xx
apply a base coat (its just labelled as base coat or something in shops, i think), then 2 - 3 layers of a good quality varnish, a clear top coat and a nail strengthening varnish. Make sure it's not peel-off nail varnish coz I have some like that and it peels off after about 24 hrs. If the nail varshish is good quality, it should stay on.
You should probably look at getting some better quality varnish! When I paint my nails I tend to pick at it, but it still lasts for, like, a week! My sister has this stuff which is all rubbery and nasty, nail varnish for kids. You put it on and you can peel it off as soon as it's dry.

Good nail varnish can be expensive but if you use it right it's worth it!
    Hi

I find that, old and cheap nail vanish is not good so I have recently chucked out a whole load of my nail vanish :-(

Get some like this http://www.chanel.com/fb/um.php?la=en-gb… or like this http://www.dior.com/pcd/International/JS… are good quality and will last long, you could also put a clear undercoat and a clear overcoat on your nails to strengthen them.

    Hope this helps xxxxx
when you are putting the nail varnish on just put one coat on the the clear one on top because if you put to much of the colour on it goes to thick and it will not harden then the clear one makes it even worse. well that's what i do and it seems to stay on longer.
Start with a base coat then one or two coats of varnish then finish with a top coat. Make sure you can go barefooted for a few hours to let it dry properly if you doing your toes.
I wear mine for about a week! Very dark ones too - the trick is to get two coats on, and make sure you totally cover the tips. Then a coat of gloss on top,
you should file nails, and buff them so the paint can get a good grip on your nails.

did you try using a better quality polish? that could be it.
Buff the nails before you apply the nail varnish

Then use a clear base coat then add the colour that you want and then a top coat if this doesn't work you should try a better nail varnish
make sure the base of your nails are clean and wash off any past varnish or remover. Maybe buy a nail varnish which is designed to be chip free and see if that is more strong

i dont know - what nail polish were you using?? It could be the nail polish - or it could be because you wait too little time before you apply the next coat - i say about 15 mins at the minimum. I think you should experiment with different makes of polish/under and iver coats as well :P

Xx Laura xXWhy does nail varnish come off in one piece?
even if u aint got nailpolish on, before applying any, wash ur hands then wipe ur nails clean with nailpolish remover, oils on ur fingers can make the nailpolish come off in one piece coz it cant adhere properly to the nail

OPI sell a product for people with especially oily cuticles to solve this problemmm

also try a better basecoat like a rubberized on which makes the nailpolish stick better (Orly sell a gd one) x
You probably need a better quality nail polish.

lemon juice works on finger nails so it might work on toes too.....probably would take longer though caues toenails are thicker than your finger nailsMy toenails are really stained from dark nail varnish. How can I get rid of this?
I have no idea how to get rid of it but you MUST put a base coat on under dark nail varnish whether it be on your fingers or toes!!!My toenails are really stained from dark nail varnish. How can I get rid of this?
i rub lemon juice and nail poish remover on them then paint them white they look great afterwards!!
The best thing to get rid of this is gotta be viniger. It stinks but it really gets it away the clear 1.
Buff them out with a light nail buffer block you can find them in a Sally's or any store like that and next time use a clear base coat before polishing with any color to prevent it from happening.
Soak your toes in warm water or after the bath to soften the nail.

Then apply nail polish remover. If you have brittle toenails, skip the warm water and go straight to the remover. This will take a few attempts over the week. Don't do it all in the same day.

Use nail extensions to cover up in the meantime.
Use a buffer and to stop it happening again always use a clear base coat first.
i don't know but to stop it from happening put base coat on before
It is usually on the top layer of the nail. What you should do is get a file (not a rough one) and file down the top of your nail. You can also use a buffer on it. It should go away easily... especially if you take a bath before b/c it softens the nail.
brush them with an old toothbrush and colgate total whitening toothpaste(not the gel) vigerously everyday for at least 2 minutes. your nails and teeth are made from the same stuff, except your nails arent as thick. trust me this works with hand nails and toenails. also to prevent the staining put a good quality base coat to prtect the color and health of the nail. also look on ehow.com and ask anything.
    chop them off.
sum1 once told me that lemon juice work,i've never tried it but its worth a shot?
let them grow out naturaly , disguise them while they are growing by putting a clear coat on first before adding colour, or you could by a french manicure set with a natural pink tint then paint on a white edge, makes toenails look really nice if you are wearing flip flops or strappy shoes.

Leave the bottle open for a while. This will help the polish thicken. Stir it every couple of minutes. DO NOT FORGET TO STIR! It will thicken up pretty quickly that way.How do i thicken up a runny nail polish/varnish?
i have 2 sally hansen nail polishes and they are both thin and runny... you just have to put less on the brush and do a few coats... but its worth the time a patients it looks really cute and stays for a while once its dried! :)
its better to leave it thin because thick nail polish is harder to work with and it bubbles

A base coat should protect but be sure to check that the base coat and the nail varnish is suitable for use with acrylic nails. A lot of varnishes pit into the acrylic slightly, resulting in a less than glossy finish. Can i paint my acrylic nails with black nail varnish or will it stain my white tips? please help :( x?

Paint stripperIm outta nail varnish remover is there anything else that wouls get it off??
Yes, metholated spirits, stinks, but does the job, next time you apply varnish, use a clear nail conditioner first, then you can apply your varnish, and you can peel it off instead of having to use a remover, hope that helps, goodluck!Im outta nail varnish remover is there anything else that wouls get it off??
Just buy some - its only about 99p a bottle. Using anything else is asking for trouble. But if your really desparate you could either peel of file it off but not recommended.
you can repaint your nails and wipe it off whilst the varnish is wet, this takes the other layer off too.
Nothing else will remove nail varnish, only nail polish remover (acetone) Good Luck !
Don't take my word for it, but vinegar removes pretty much anything....
    Acetone - but it's harsh!
Get to the shops...........and buy some.

  • Nail varnish how long can you leave it on for?

How long can you keep nail varnish on your toes for? does it matter? Are you suposed to remove it every so many days and put fresh on?Nail varnish how long can you leave it on for?
Until it starts chipping off or growing out. I constantly have my toe nails painted and only remove the polish once I feel like painting them again.Nail varnish how long can you leave it on for?
As long as it isn't getting all chipped up, I usually leave it on for a while. Maybe 10-14 days? Then, I'll remove it and start over again.
You can leave it on for any amount of time. I usually take mine off after it starts chipping and re-apply it.

What make-up can males wear and what nail varnish looks best on men?

im male and was wondering what make up i could wear without looking GAY?What make-up can males wear and what nail varnish looks best on men?
Well! If on stage a guy can do anything with there makeup its a must need! Eye-liner is one of the most essencial part of the ';mask'; it is imoporatant because the eyes would not be visible with out it...and blush is also important or else you look flushed out by the lights and if you are off stage then it just depends on your style! What make-up can males wear and what nail varnish looks best on men?
subtle eyeliner and black or silver nailpolish (make sure its all hastaly applied) messy is good.
Maybe just moistureizer. You can't wear makeup if you're not gay or you will look gay.

Women don't like to see men in makup. Not me anyway.
man, that went out with the 80's (I was there) you shouldnt be concerned, be a man and all your perceived flaws will be treats for the right girl.
In my opinion I don't think men can wear any makeup without looking rediculous. The only nail polish acceptable for men is black, if it goes with your style and you can pull it off.
    Unless you are gay......none!!

Keep yourself looking young and fresh with quality face cleansers, moisturizers (with spf - Very important!), the right hair style that accentuates your face, the right clothes that accentuates your body type and personal style you are trying to achieve, the right cologne (none of this cheap crap...I can smell the cheap crap a mile away....not only by its non-mistakable odor, but for the simple reason that guys that buy it usually take baths in it!!), the right shoes (Shoes can make you or break you!), a clean shaved face (This can be argued all day long, but for anyone that does not love Grizzly Adams, clean shaved is the way to go.), white teeth %26amp; clean breath (enough said), and a winning personality!! This is all you need my dear.....except maybe for a descent set of wheels!

So no more of this make-up nonsense...ok! Unless, you are a male model on a photo shoot, doing a catwalk on the runway, or you are Johnny Depp playing the role of Jack Sparrow in a multi-million dollar movie......or like I said earlier GAY, leave the makeup for the male-pros who get paid enough to wear it!
hmm, honestly i'm not sure you can get away with with wearing any and not looking gay, Maybe try to wear a LITTLE BIT of eye-liner.. maybe instead of a black one you could get a brown eye-lines (it looks more natural). You might be able to get away with concealer.. (for imperfections) as long as it is REALLY well blended!! as for nail polish try black (unless you're worried about emo/goth look) or a silvery or clear colour.
    none, and clear.

How do you make ur nail varnish perfect?

how do you stop the little bubbles forming in ur nail varnish when it dries? How do you make ur nail varnish perfect?
hi try using a base coat first, this evens out the nail surface. then use a couple of thin coats of polish allow it to dry well then add a top coat it will keep ure nails looking good longer and stops the polish chipping . i hope this helps .How do you make ur nail varnish perfect?
wait a few minutes after shaking the bottle before you put it on.
ooh...i know this. dont put the layers on too quickly...%26amp; dont put the 2nd layer on when the temperature is too hot...or it will bubble up.

put one coat on..let it dry - wait 15 mins...then apply 2nd coat - and an HOUR later..put on your glossy top coat %26amp; chill. if you try to do it all too fast, when you are warm or if the weather is warm...it will all go wrong %26amp; bubble!! sounds strange i know - but true!!
I use nicer nail polish-- usually O.P.I. or Orly
keep your polish in the fridge it keeps it in good condition
Try Rolling The Bottle Gently Between Youre Hands [Don't Shake It, Because This Makes The Nail Polish Bubble], Then Applying It In Three, Even Strips [ One Down The Middle 1st, Then Two At The Sides] If you want to apply a second coat, then wait for nails to dry, then blast them under cold tap water. Finish With A Coat Of Clear Varnish. And Make Sure You Replace Old Nail Varnishes Every 6 Months.

It varies! sometimes I wear black and it will stay chip free for a week, other times like today, I did them friday and the dratted things are alreadychipped. do you use a top coat as well?
use the clear coat on each hand 5 times a day.
    Hey,

You actually shouldn't put a clear coat on before you put the actual colour on as this will chip it off, put the colour on then the clear to seal it in.

    Works for me!

    Hope I helped!

    xxxx

    :) x
Clean your nails with nail polish remover before applying nail polish, the polish will adhere better.

    Have you tried higher-end ones?

I suggest China Glaze or OPI.
    ask a doctor
It depends what the nail varnish is like. I know you use top coat already but maybe try getting a stronger one. I use miss sporty clear and it seems to work really well.
I always get tempted to use cheap nail varnishes like Barry M but in reality they are not worth it because they never last! Instead, I try to save my money and buy one good nail varnish instead of loads of cheaper ones! x
use OPI nail polish, it's the best out there :) top coat colour and base coat
put colour then clear then colour then clear

it might be the nail varnish that doesnt stay on for long it normally says on the bottle though

i probably havent helped but still hope i havee :)

be very careful with any solvents..as they could melt some synthetic materials...if in doubt..take to your local dry cleaners.
    you wash it off.
take an eraser pen for all kinds of paint. that should help.
    ...try...nail polish remover?

...or maybe it wouldn't work...try spirit, then, or something of the same evaporating nature.
Put the item in a plastic bag then place in the freezer. After a few hours take the item out and peel off the varnish. Simple.
hair spray, yes that's right hair spray or acetate (acetate is in hair spray and nail polish remover).
freeze then pick really is the best way
    try neat white spirit
    Scissors
lots of salt in water and boil for 5 minutes.good luck.
white spirit or nail vanish remover
Bright pink nail varnish once on your lovely LBN can only be removed by fire I'm afraid

    Best of luck honey.
    use spirit or petrol
The best thing I've found that you can use is acetone. Make sure the nail polish remover has acetone in it (some polish removers are acetone free, which is easier on your nail but doesn't remove the polish very well).

How do u remove nail varnish on nails without using a nail varnish remover?
Paint a fresh coat (any color- but clear works best) on your nail, let sit for 5-10 seconds and then wipe your nail off with a wet wash cloth (cotton balls works too, and are less messy- but take a little more effort than a wash cloth)

After doing this to each nail, wash and rinse your hands (paying close attention to your nails) in hot soapy water.

Use a nail file (electronic preferably) on the tops of your nails to scrape off any left over polish.
You don't. You must remove polish remover.
Sharp knife - lots of scraping, great care.
    use petrol
Pick it off or add a fresh coat then wipe off the wet paint immediately. Not as good as proper remover but ok in an emergency. Oh and I discovered (accidentally) this summer that DEET insect repellant removes nail polish.
    Answer

One nail at a time, use a clear nail polish or a light/sheer color and paint over the nail color you want to remove. Then, immediately use a paper towel to wipe off the nail you just painted. Continue until all polish is removed.

    Answer

You can try and pick off the nail polish first, and then mix palmolive with water and scrub off remaining polish.

use peel off nail polish instead.

    Answer

Acetone. It's harsh, but does the trick. Nails breath and that's how they grow so women should only put nail hardner (if they have weak nails) just up to the white moon of the nail (the moon is what breaths.) When you want to put nail color on (don't have it on all the time) then you can cover the moon of the nail.

NOTE: ACETONE IS NAIL POLISH REMOVER!

Fingernail polish and automotive paint are the same thing. Only difference is nail polish has glycerin added for shelf life.

Normal polish remover is just acetone, a product used in automotive and many other places. The clear you put on your nails is just like auto clearcoat for cars.

Saying that... to remove nail polish w/o chemicals... just look at automotive items. There are hand cleaners out there for auto painters that are non toxic and remove such items from hands. Permetex is one of these makers.

Just a matter of scrubbing your hands as if you were washing them and it will come right off. Since its on your nails, maybe a fingernail brush to help get the corners. Won't dry out your hands or cause them to be rough. Used it for years.

I do auto paint work, and about 10 yrs ago I was looking at starting a nail polish company. Was trying to invent the instant dry polish. But Revlon beat me to the punch so I stuck with just auto paint.

So the next time you get a chip on your car.... nail polish is fine to use no matter how many men scream at you. Actually you are doing more good than they are w/ their store bought touch up paint bottles. I won't even get into how wrong that stuff is.
    Electric Sander?

I do auto paint work, and about 10 yrs ago I was looking at starting a nail polish company. Was trying to invent the instant dry polish. But Revlon beat me to the punch so I stuck with just auto paint.

So the next time you get a chip on your car.... nail polish is fine to use no matter how many men scream at you. Actually you are doing more good than they are w/ their store bought touch up paint bottles. I won't even get into how wrong that stuff is.

I'd go for a more natural look with your outfit. There is a lot of shine and sequins going on for anything but going clubbing. Even then, you don't want to cross over the line into skanky looking so natural makeup would look best!! : P
    no..

it would just be too much... maybe swap the sequin leggings for normal ones, just a thought.

And wear a natural looking lipstick with black/silver nails and smokey eye's =D
take a picture of your outfit so we can get a better visual.

i think it sounds cute, but it depends where you wear it to.

What is the best nail varnish?

Which company, i want one that won't come off within a day or under of wearing it because the ones i have are seriously Cr*p, so which ones do you use and recomend? What is the best nail varnish?
Barry m. Its the best and stays on ur nails for ages without chipping and comes in amazing colours! What is the best nail varnish?
Hard candy, chanel are good, rimmel is usually quite good too.
I use OPI, it lasts for ages especially if you seal it with their top coat. Not cheap but its really good stuff
OPI and Chanel. Both expensive, but like everything, you get what you pay for.
OPI is a really good professional nail varnish in loads of colours. For more bright colours try Barry M (quite cheap about 2.95 per bottle from Superdrug)

    Good luck x
I use OPI nail product, along with their top coat.
MAC and Hard Candy varnishes are great, a bit pricey though.
    CHANEL

its the best ive tried ever!!

    :D
O P I is the one that quite a few salon's use, and it is available to the public. I have always found it to be GREAT. Make sure that when painting your nails that you use more than one coat, apply a top coat and make sure that you dry them completely before doing anything. And ultra violet light is best, but if not available--try a hair dryer on a cooler setting for quick result ( I HAVE NO PATIENCE!!! lol).
The nail salon I go to uses OPI (which I guess it's what they also use on my nails and they look great!). In my teens, I used Orly and L'Or茅al - they were value for money and lasted for about 4 days before cracking. Are you sure you applied it correctly? Be patient and let the first layer dry before the second coat!
Good question. The best one is by Opi which has also been chosen by Instyle magazine and a few other beauty magazines as being the best nail polish. You can buy this online or a good nail place will have it for sale or for application.

    Good luck!

I've spilt nail varnish on a stained wooden floor and suede... what can i use to get it up...?

... without bringing up the stain on the wood? will try anything... any help is much appreciated! ps, i dropped it about 3 days ago so its hard, but not pickable hard, only a think layer. oh and ive got it on suede too! argh help!I've spilt nail varnish on a stained wooden floor and suede... what can i use to get it up...?
I'm not familiar with that term. Is it what we call ';nail polish'; in the US, the stuff that you put on fingernails to color them?

If so, acetone will melt it, however, that will probably damage the finish on the wooden floor. Since it is a thick layer, how about using a single edge razor blade to cut it parallel to the floor. You can then use an Exacto or other miniature hobby knife to scrape up even more of it.

Try a Q-tip in acetone to wipe up any remaining, but be very careful not to touch any area that you don't have to touch. When you are done, perhaps a drop of urethane varnish over the damaged spot to protect it.

There is varnish over the stained wood now, so if you are careful, you will not even go through it to touch the wood.

The acetone could also damage any coloring on the suede, the same way. Many leather and also suede items also have some stain on them. Their protective layer over the stain is thinner than on the floor, so be very careful there too.I've spilt nail varnish on a stained wooden floor and suede... what can i use to get it up...?
    Nail varnish remover pads
    Cooee!

You will need: a hairdryer; tissue; acetone; cotton wool balls; methylated spirits; patience.

Heat the nail polish with the hairdryer; put acetone on cotton wool and wipe of surface; apply methylated spirits with tissue - continue this til nail polish is removed.

The Suede: heat with hairdryer; wet tissue with acetone (or preferably super-glue remover); gently wipe one way on the suede; continue process until removed. Gently wash suede in warm, soapy water. Rinse well etc
WAIT TIL IT DRYS ON SUEDE PICK IT OFF THEN NAIL VARNISH REMOVER WILL DO THE TRICK
If all else fails move a heavy armchair over it and bin the suede whatevers
I wouldn't advise nail vanish remover on either-it will bring up the vanish. Try some white spirit.
try using NON-ACETONE nail polish remover. it will say something like ';safe for acrylic nails';. This will take the nail polish without taking the varnish. Still use it sparingly on the spot on the floor. Try putting it on a q-tip and rubbing that on the spot, not the floor around it. Best thing for the suede may be to put it in the freezer (if you can) and get it as cold as possible then try to peel it off. If you can't fit in freezer use a cold compress. If the cold dosen't work, you can also try to nail polish remover, but try to test for color fastness in a unvisible spot first.
    A PIECE OF TISSUE
Oops! Sorry wish i could help you but I'm stuck on that one!

I would hurry though before you boyfriend gets home from work!! lol.

clear nail varnish then nail varnish removerHow do you get red nail varnish out of a white pair of trousers?
Paint your nails, not your trousers. How do you get red nail varnish out of a white pair of trousers?
    Rub in some ethyl ethanoate.
    ';Goof-Off'; should do the trick, it removes most varnish's and epoxy based solvents. Made by the same company as ';Goop';
put them in the freezer till nail varnish goes hard, then it should be brittle enough to break it off
You'll be lucky! I don't think it actually comes out of anything!
have you tried nail varnish remover??
There is no way to take it out. My daughter got red nail polish on a pair of sweat pants. I tried bleach, nail remover, and all kinds of fabric cleaners, including those nifty ';removes anything'; cleaners. Nothing worked, so my suggestion is the same as the rest of the group - throw them away and get a new pair.
try bleach or red nail varnish remover......DUH!!!!!
Hey, this is a dicey job - red nail varnish on a white pair

of trousers. You can try with a nail varnish remover but it

may not remove completely, with some slight red colour

stains on the white trousers. Then try to remove the smeared

red stains by bleaching it with Clorox solution. This may

help and repeat it again until the stains are gone and the white

    trousers looks white.
cut a hole where u spilled the varnish.. guaranteed to take care of the varnish %26amp; destroy the trousers.
Send it to the dry cleaners! they will sort it out for you!!
You can't. It's better to get out the nail polish again and make it into a flower or a little boat.
    maybe nail varnish remover!
    You can't.

Sorry I really don't think you get it out. You might be able to remove alot of it but the reds dyes will still to the fibres of the cloth.
it's impossible, treat yourself to a new pair

if you can't afford to dye the trousers red then at least you'll get some use out of them
you can use a nail polish remover, then was it or scub it with dove soap a bar of dove soap, several times rinse and scrub, now let it dry, then the next step is touse your regular washing detergent tide or whatever, now you still going to have a little stain, maybe even some pink color, take some bleach and make bleach water mix with water not too strong or later you will get holes in the material, dab it with a cue tip like you use for your ears, then when the pink is gone put it in the machine with the tide and what ever, by it self and wash regular! All the other solutions will be put a patch ove it embrodier over it stuff like that, but this should work for you, if not, nothing will do it, Good Luck!

How can I get nail varnish off a carpet?

In my experience, using nail varnish remover has only spread the colour. Nail varnish is made partially from acrylic, and once it drys its like a solid plastic, so its hard to shift. Use shaving foam. Really. There is something in it which breaks down the acrylic (so it removes acrylic paint too, this is how I first picked up this tip, being an art student).

Spray a little on and leave it for 5 mins, then gently rub away with a slightly damp cloth. If you've ever used carpet/upholstery cleaning foam then use it like this. Another application might be required, but it works perfectly and will remove it from clothes and general material also :)How can I get nail varnish off a carpet?

here. Comes in a tube that looks much like the glue tube

    Superglue and soapy water

To remove super glue from metal use very hot soapy water.

You need to be patient, and after a few applications, the superglue should be removed.

Note that with very stubborn super glue stains you may need to use almost boiling water to get rid of all the super glue residue.

As with any sort of stain, try to clean as soon as the super glue is applied as it's easier to remove before it sets. How can I remove superglue from metal? Acetone nail varnish remover hasn't worked.?
you can buy super glue remover in the shops
go the chemist and ask for amyl acetate - you might have to sign for this as it is a dangerous chemical, - mix it with acetone to slow down the chemical process but this will work.

You are worried that she will think you love her? How would that be upsetting?

Also, the question asks: What would my girlfriend say if she came home wearing make up and nail varnish?

Do you understand why that may be confusing.

If you meant, would your girlfriend be upset to see you wearing her make up and nail polish, and consequently think you do not love her, then I will say to you:

She might get a little worried.

Golden rule: without good communication, there is no good relationship
Just to clarify: You are a man that is worried about what your girlfriend would say if she came home and you were wearing her make-up.

I imagine she'd be quite surprised, it's not something that you should just spring on someone, tell her that you like dressing up before you do that.
explain to her about it. Guyliner and guy-makeup is totally acceptable in todays society as long as it doesn't look drag.

  • How do you dispose nail varnish remover properly?

apart from throwing it in the bin.How do you dispose nail varnish remover properly?
Look in your phone book for a hazardous material drop off site. All cities or counties have them. These are the proper place to drop off all household hazardous materials (oil, old paint, unused cleaning materials, CFL's and etc). When you get there they can give you a list of what items should be taken there instead of being taken to the landfill. How do you dispose nail varnish remover properly?

Please can anybody tell me how to get nail varnish off clothes.?

    Depends on the material!

Soak the stain only in a dish with nail polish remover (dish will depending on the size of the stain). Then wash the garment as soon as possible after the stain has been removed. You may need quite a bit of nail polish remover if stain is quite large.

Or you can lay the garment over an old towel or cloth and pour the nail polish remover on to let it soak through , again wash the garment as soon as possible after the stain has been removed, as this solution is highly flammablePlease can anybody tell me how to get nail varnish off clothes.?

Any links would be great thanks xxWhere in the UK can I buy sets of nail varnish?
I think Boots do gift sets of varnish and make-up in general during the Christmas period. They sell both Barry M and Rimmel.Where in the UK can I buy sets of nail varnish?
The only thing I can think of in the way of nail varnish sets are Ciate ones from ASOS (which are great btw %26amp; really cute :D)

But why not get her a few and then have them giftwrapped or find a nice box to put them in yourself?

You can't buy sets I don't think but check in boots and superdrugs. If you can't find any choose 4 or 5 bottles of nail varnish and put in a nice box/ pencil case with other stuff in, like sample of hand cream nail files etc.
Boots and Superdrug often carry special gift sets of nail polishes at Christmas time, although I can;t find any results online at the moment. If not, why not buy them separately and wrap them up in a little gift yourself?
You can try this site. They have a few of those:

Boots and Superdrugs do great deals at christmas!!!

I always without a doubt grab a few sets each year! Well worth the cash.
it's Xmas shopping time so most of the big stores do sets of Nail Polish...i saw some fairly cheap ones in Wilkinson's %26amp; Boots, Superdrug, Debenhams etc., - they all do them.
Boots the Chemist or Superdrug both have sets. Try department stores, e.g. Debenhams as well.
I know they sell Barry M in Boots, but I'm not sure about sets of nail varnish. I just got liquid eyeliner and dazzle dust.
    superdrug!

and if your a student, use your student UCAS card and get 10% off!
Just about anywhere I would think. Rimmel are the cheapest cosmetics out there - Have you tried boots or tescos

Make sure you only put one 2 thin coats of nail polish on your nails and use 1 thin coat of top coat. ';Selents'; on top of polish are a great way to protect but make sure you get a really good type (nothing cheap)
Ive had the same problem, and i use a coat of clear over the top, i just usually end up putting another coat on every day

  • How can you get pink nail varnish out of 100 percent polyester black shirt?

that Sharpie thing might just do the trick, but as for removing it, you're hosed. Polyester is an organic chemical, and so is nail varnish. The stuff that cuts varnish will most likely dissolve the polyester too. Sorry! How can you get pink nail varnish out of 100 percent polyester black shirt?
put the shirt in the freezer for a while and then once the pink is frozen, try to scrape it off (no water nor anyting liquid)

it has to be dry and frozen......How can you get pink nail varnish out of 100 percent polyester black shirt?
Just take it to the dry cleaners and see what they can do with it.

I tipped nail varnish on my carpet! What do I do?

Sorry, it's nail varnish remover! Which is even worse!I tipped nail varnish on my carpet! What do I do?
Lay a clean slightly damp cloth over the patch and run a hot iron lightly over it. The stuff should be drawn up into the cloth.I tipped nail varnish on my carpet! What do I do?
Blot at it with a clean damp cloth, don't rub at it or you may damage the carpet. If the colour doesn't come out onto the cloth, you'll have to use a cleaning product to remove it. I wouldn't suggest bleach, it can also damage carpets.

Also try using 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water, apply it to the cloth first and then blot the carpet again.
use nail polish remover thats the only thing that will work

What to do with dried out nail varnish?

Is there anything you can do to dried out nail varnish so that it is still usable. what i mean by dried out is it is lumpy, sticky and really thick. What to do with dried out nail varnish?
sometimes it helps to put a few drops of polish remover in the old polish and then shake it up really goodWhat to do with dried out nail varnish?
Throw it out anad buy some new nail polish.

Nail polish - like any other cosmetic - needs to be properly rotated because each time it is opened and then the brush touchs your nail you are introducing air and bacteria into the bottle. Over time that can dry out the product as well as cause nasty infections and spread disease.

Sometimes it's hard to throw away your favorite color but there are millions of diffrent colors out there to choose from and the good news is that they are not terribly expensive.
Place the bottle in a bowl of boing water (careful dont burn yourself) then take it out and shake it, it sohuld have returend back to its usual state however you may have to do this every time you use it:)
Mix your dried nail polish with a little drops of nail polish remover and shake it . It will help the nail polish go back to its liquidity. =)
    i dont think so...

Nail varnish remover on my mums expensive dressing table!?

ok, im 16 and had to remove my nail varnish on my toenails so i used some nail varnish remover but some spilt onto the really expensive wood dressing table and i forgot about it and now theres a pale white colour stain!

How do i fix it/ make it less obvious or restore it back to normal? she knows about it by the way and i felt really bad :(Nail varnish remover on my mums expensive dressing table!?
You could go to Menard's and they have this stuff called stain its kinda like paint but its for wood. so you go pick out the exact color of the would shake up the stain can and paint over the spot. it takes like 1 hour to dry but it would look good as new. i did this yesterdayNail varnish remover on my mums expensive dressing table!?
This is not a Do-It-Yourself project.Look up ';Furniture Refinishing'; in your local book.Maybe someone there will help you out.

I'm guessing you are in the UK. Do your Highschools have refinishing classes there, or wood working? That would be a great place to ask.

    Good Luck!
    One word... RUN!!!

p.s. just read the bit about her knowing. If she's not belted you yet, just put it down to experience and do something nice for her. The table is probably wrecked, short of giving it a complete revarnish...
The best way would be to take it to a professional furniture restorer. But you will pay for the service, it ain't cheap but it is the best option
