How can i keep my nail varnish on?

I know this sounds weird but when i paint my finger nails they look good, but after like a day they go really chipped and look gross.

Please Help! How can i keep my nail varnish on?
base coat

top coat

thin coats of a good nailpolish (thick coats don't adhere as well, crappy nail polishes...are crappy)

wash your hands and nails before applying anything - remove the oils.

when your nails are almost dry, dip them in super cold water (don't run the sink and put your fingers under.. that's both a waste of water and it could smudge your nails)

after applying:

every couple days or so, put on a top coat again.

if theres a chip: dot on the nail varnish where the chip is, let dry. put on a full coat on the whole nail, followed by a top coat.

hope this helps! How can i keep my nail varnish on?
Well, it depends on alot of things.

try to avoid fingernail contact with food especially, oilly greasy foods may cause a problem from what i'm guessing. Nobody likes oily hands. . .

Also, anything that comes into contact with your nails that may scratch them may causes the polish to chip off.

You could also try a different brand. . .
You need to fill up a a like bowl of FREEZING cold water and put you fingers one bye one in them until you feel like you fingers are going to like freeze and then keep doing that and then it will stay on!
Invest in expensive nail varnish. Chanel stays on for up to 5 weeks.

Try submerging your freshly painted nails in a bowl of ice-cold water for 30 seconds
You put on this clear glossy nail varnish when you are done called nail protector or something and your nail polish can't come off, not even if you use nail polish remover, but when the protector wears off in about a week then it will come off normally.
It depends on the type of nail polish you buy. Cheap and tacky polish won't last long but good quality nail polish is better even if you pay that bit extra - and it does last a while until the bottle finishes.

When I went for a french manicure once the lady who did my nails put one coat of clear polish on and it only lasted. what 3 days? And when i went back another time, another lady did my nails and put 4 coats of clear polish and it lasted 2 weeks.

However having nail polish on for too long isn't good (long period of time), your nails do need air to breathe.

My friend didn't take hers off for 2 months, came back and had the yellowest of nails.. which wasn't very flattering.

So just that added touch of clear polish and good quality polish aswell.

To also cure this short time you could try using products on your nails. Try a few out and see which works best for you ;)
