try adding a tiny amount of nail varnish remover to a part of the couch that no1 can see (underneath/the bottom/back) and see if it has any effect on the couch.

if not do it over the stain (but using the smallest amount of polish remover) and cotton wool

Can only think of nail polish remover or a proper cleaner for real leather.. Try the cleaner for leather and if it fails try the nail polish remover. Try both them to and just keep experimenting!! You can find it in your local super market or have a search online to see what there is.. Good Luck.. I know that hairspray is amazing for pen marks!! There's a tip!!
I used nail polish remover just on the end of a cotton wool bud and barely touched the leather. It worked without leaving any discolouration on brown leather.
Wipe down the varnish with some nail polish remover, and then wash the varnish off with a sponge and some hot water. (It's safer than removing the whole thing with the remover.)
Try using nail remover, rub it lightly with cotton wool.

It should work.
use a bit of nail polish remover on a cotton ball .
