How do I open a stuck nail varnish bottle?

It's a bottle of OPI that has never been opened. It just seems totally stuck closed. I tried holding it under hot water but it didn't work. How do I open a stuck nail varnish bottle?
I use fat rubberbands to wrap around the cap and bottle to get a grip to open it.

Also, another trick I do is turn the bottle upside down. Put several drops of acetone in the cap and let it soak. sometimes this will loosen it just enough to get it open. How do I open a stuck nail varnish bottle?
Thank you so much, the acetone really worked! I even used vice grips and it didn't even budge. Interesting though, I had the problem with an OPI bottle too and have never had a problem with other polishes.

I usually use those disposable gloves that are well fitted onto your hands and open it. It works everytime. Once you open it remove any polish around the nail polish lip that might cause it to get stuck. By using tissue and abit of nail polish remover to clean the lip.
You have to tap all round the edge, keep doing it.

It works with all jars. I tap them firmly on a work top,(counter) keep turning all the time.

Don't use the door method unless you have hard wood or metal doors, it can damage the door and paintwork.
take a piece of cotton and dip it in nail varnish remover and then hold the cotton by the stuck cover for a bit and it should loosen the tightness
try placing it in between a door...its really easy!
